There’s special providence in the fall of a sparrow

In April 2007 my son Graham died while preparing to climb Kilimanjaro. This blog follows my thoughts and feelings as I prepare to climb Kilimanjaro to mark the tenth anniversary of his death in April 2017. However on 18th December 2016, three months before my planned ascent, I had a heart attack and my intention to climb Kilimanjaro had to be put on hold.  Having consulted various medical sources and managed to get myself insured (I was somewhat intimidated by the thought of having to get myself helicoptered off the mountain) my plan was to climb it between 11th to 21st October 2018.
